Wastewate Treatment Plant

Martha, Frankie, and I went on a tour to the Water Pollution Control Facility (wastewater treatment plant). It isn't like visiting Liberace Museum or Art Museum in the Bellagio, its more important than that (at least important to a Las Vegasan).

I read about the treatment plant while doing research on the wetlands. It was very interesting and amazing. If you have visited the wetlands (near Boulder highway and Tropicana), part of the water there comes from the treatment plant.

It might be difficult to understand my desire to visit this place. I think it is very important to understand my surroundings. Water is what helps us stay in the middle of desert. Cleaning used water is one of the most important and amazing systems built in Las Vegas. Las Vegas has an incredible water system going on. This system has so much money and energy put into it, I don't know how they keep it up!

About 90% of the tour was outside but it wasn't as hot as I thought it would be. The place wasn't stinking, except for one place. The plant is located near the Las Vegas Wash so we have a couple animals join us on the tour. Our tour guide, Bruce, was super nice and smart. The tour was free and I wanted to tip him at the end but I thought it would be too weird. I will send him some flowers later. Actually, if you go, please tell me, and I can give you flowers to give to him. :)

I met a microbiologist too! He looked like a mad scientist, I wish we could have talked more. I just "hello."

So please book your tour soon to the treatment plant here. If you have troubles, just message me.

I really want to go visit the recycling center, I believe it is the Republic Services. That is my next mission.

I will take a tour now that you've confirmed what I'd heard about the place.

Welcome back to the blogosphere, Camila!

I need to paint my toilets at my house - I knew there was something I'd forgotten!
