05 December 2008

Immediately after Muleshkov’s class, I headed to the Beam Music Center for “The Role of Race and Gender in the 2008 Election" lecture. (It was freezing outside. I should stop wearing skirts but I feel more comfortable in them.) The panel had Farai Chideya, Susan Faludi, and Katha Pollitt. Dina Titus was the moderator.

I really liked all the guests. They were clever, cute, and confident.

I did not know anything about them prior to the event, and I am fan now. (I have hear Farai Chideya on NPR’s News and Notes. I only listened to her though; I did not know her specifically.)

Susan Faludi talked about her book, The Terror Dream. It sounded interesting so I thought would check it out. I thought the book was titled The Terrorist Dream. (It was hard to hear in there. It was nice and warm though!) I googled “the terrorist…” and before I could finish typing I get this…

The top one is messed up!

Anyway, I added News and Notes and Katha Pollitt’s blog to my Bloglines, I look forward to their posts.

~Back to studying, next week is finals! :P
