National Clean Energy Summit Day 2

(The stage was nice)

Tuesday's conference was interesting and motivating. I look forward to next year's meeting. Hopefully there will be improvements to speak about.

My favorite speakers were Bill Clinton, Van Jones, T. Boone Pickens, Dina Titus, Janet Napolitano, Randolph Townsend, Google.org, and Edward Mazria.

I like Dina Titus, she is sweet and smart. She is one of my favorite people. I especially like her because she represents my hometown.

Nuclear power = clean energy was a big debater. I found people who were against it and people who were for it. I don't know much about nuclear power. My instinct tells me to against it but I need to read more about it.

Overall the main points from the meeting were....
  • renew tax incentives
  • clean energy=more green jobs
  • interstate transport system to transport the energy between locations
  • get away from coal
  • clean energy=better national security
  • in order to move to a clean energy nation we must think long term not short term
  • efficient building standards
  • value on carbon
There was more than that. I didn't understand everything the speakers presented. My energy knowledge isn't great. I still have a lot to learn.

I hope this conference wasn't just talk. I expect to see some walking. I will be doing some walking too. I will do my part and hopefully Las Vegas can get moving to being more responsible. I hope I am not let down.

I would like to see a similar meeting or presentation about the southwest's water. That stuff gets scary.
